Bas van Laarhoven, born in 1973, living in Best, The Netherlands. Bas van Laarhoven is an award winning photographer, specialising in nature. Already in his childhood there was an above average interest in nature and landscapes (in particular mountains). Since then he visits one or several times a year a mountain region. During these trips photography has become an increasingly important part. Other areas came “in the picture” such as rugged coastal areas, but also the immediate vicinity of his hometown is now an important photo-area for him. To develop his photography skills he successfully completed a photography study. His drive to photograph arose from his desire to capture the natural beauty around us. His style can be characterized as a search for a sense of atmosphere, detail and composition.
